LMAX Exchange

Supporting open source excellence

LMAX Exchange is the leading low-latency, regulated MTF (execution venue) for electronic trading on the foreign exchange market.

How Samba helps LMAX Exchange

LMAX Exchange is a fellow open source proponent and member of the Linux Foundation. When they asked us in 2015 to help maintain their Samba instance we knew this was the start of an exciting business relationship.

LMAX Exchange uses Samba instead of Active Directory to manage authentication across their internal networks. The company runs Linux systems for production and corporate systems so Samba allows them to manage their network using a single automated configuration management system without compromising their commitment to open source, or creating compatibility headaches.

Catalyst are simply the best place for Samba support. They're easy to deal with both technically and commercially and were able to create a custom support contract that met our needs.

Samba support

Our Samba experts provide a support package every year for LMAX Exchange, which includes some customisation and feature development. We’ve helped LMAX Exchange with planned projects and upgrades, as well as rolling up our sleeves to resolve unexpected challenges, providing creative solutions fast. All this ensures LMAX Exchange is well supported with secure internal systems that really meet their business needs.

Having direct access to Samba lead developers means we can get quick fixes for issues and new features that exactly match our requirements. This direct 'can do' approach is very valuable to us.
