The Electoral Enrolment Centre (EEC) is responsible for maintaining and compiling the Parliamentary electoral roll. In 2003 we entered into a partnership agreement with Catalyst IT, to provide software development resources along with application, hardware and network support and maintenance.
We have found Catalyst IT to be proactive and responsive to EEC's requirements throughout our relationship, including the lead up to the 2005 General election. Catalyst IT's expertise has been invaluable to EEC in achieving and exceeding our business objectives.
Electoral Enrolment Centre
In 2004 Catalyst IT were chosen to provide web services for the redevelopment of the NZ Racing Board web site (www.tab.co.nz). The web site provides access to Racing and Sports betting including extensive race form and Racing and Sports news. The site has an annual turnover of more than $95m (2003-2004).
Catalyst provided a dedicated team and has met the challenges required to develop and host a high performance web site.
Staff at Catalyst have regularly 'gone the extra mile' to provide these services. Catalyst easily integrated with existing suppliers to create a seamless conversion and rollout of the new betting site.
Catalyst’s staff have been able to quickly cater for changes in specification and design and produce a reliable and efficient site.
I have worked with the Catalyst team on a number of occasions over the past five years, with many large and often highly complex projects. Currently I manage a consortium project involving 20 of NZ's tertiary education providers - the New Zealand Virtual Learning Environment project. The objective is to lower the barriers to adopting e-learning technologies in education.
Early on in the planning stage we recognised the need for a development team with a track record of delivering complex Internet based applications using open source technology. We needed a team with a culture of collaboration and focused on delivering value. Catalyst now supports the e-learning infrastructure for six polytechnics supporting over 50,000 learners.
